A tiny brass ball hangs inside the bell from a soft cord. When your door opens, the bell sways gently and the ball strikes the inside producing one clear, warm chime.
Two ways to install (no tools, no drilling, no damage):
- Magnetic mount - Two strong magnets are built into the back of the wooden frame. Press it against any metal surface (steel front doors, fridge, metal cabinet) and it holds firmly.
- Adhesive mount - For wood, glass, painted, or smooth non-metal surfaces, use the included double-sided adhesive pads. Peel, press, done. Removes cleanly when you move.
Good to know:
- Works on doors that open inward or outward
- Sound is soft and warm - not loud or alarming
- The bell is real frosted brass - it develops a beautiful patina over years
- Compact size (under 3 inches tall) - looks like an art object, not a gadget

Will the adhesive damage my door when I remove it?
No. The adhesive pads are residue-free and designed to peel cleanly. We've tested on painted wood, glass, lacquered surfaces, and metal all clean removal.
How loud is the chime?
Soft and warm - closer to a meditation bell than a doorbell. You'll hear it clearly when you're nearby, but it won't startle pets, wake babies, or carry through the whole house. If you want a louder alert, this isn't the product for you.
Does it work on outward-opening doors?
Yes. The chime responds to any movement of the door - inward or outward. It works as long as the door swings (it won't chime for sliding doors, since those don't sway).
What's the difference between the magnet and adhesive install?
Magnets work on any ferrous metal surface (steel front doors, fridges, metal cabinets). The adhesive pads work on everything else wood, glass, painted surfaces, lacquered finishes. The product comes with both, so you choose at install.
Will the brass tarnish over time?
It will develop a subtle warm patina over the years - which most customers love. If you want to keep it bright, a soft cloth wipe every few months is enough. Avoid harsh polish.
Is it safe around kids and pets?
Yes. Lead-free brass, non-toxic woodwax finish, and the bell ball is securely tied to the frame. The whole piece is under 100 grams — if it ever fell, it wouldn't cause harm.
Can I use this outdoors?
We recommend interior use only. The brass and wood are not weatherproofed and prolonged rain or direct sun exposure will shorten the lifespan.
